LEADERSHIP
Nevada North League is about much more than just bike racing. The culture of the league has been built on year-round programs that develop kids and teens through a variety of non-competitive learning environments. Beyond our race event weekends, we also offer plenty of non-race programs.
Darrin Rice
League Director
Darrin Rice is a lifelong Northern Nevadan who brings a strong background in leadership, public service, and youth development to his role as Nevada North League Director for NICA. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Emergency Management and spent 26 years with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2025 as Chief Deputy.
Darrin became involved with NICA when his son joined the McQueen Knightriders, and his passion for the organization quickly grew through years of volunteer service. He has served as a crew chief, board treasurer for three years, and coach for three seasons, helping support and develop student-athletes both on and off the bike.
An avid endurance athlete, Darrin enjoys competing in ultramarathon races and spending time mountain biking on the trails around Tahoe. He is excited to help grow the Nevada North League and continue building a positive, inclusive cycling community for student-athletes and families across the region.
